Frame condition. A sound, square opening is a clean install. Settled framing or soft brickmould gets corrected first, and the quote says so in writing.
Door type. A standard aluminum full-view differs from a heavy security door with a deadbolt into reinforced framing.

Usually yes. The mounting rails get shimmed plumb inside the opening. There are limits, and if your frame is past them we say so at the door instead of forcing a bad fit.
Almost always the same side as the entry door's hinges, so both doors swing together. We confirm the handing at your door before you order, because it is the one mistake that cannot be adjusted away.
Closer tension, almost every time. Closers are set for the door's weight and wind exposure, and they wear. Adjusting or replacing them is routine work we handle during any storm door visit.
A dark storm door over a dark entry door in full sun can trap real heat. If your exposure risks it, we tell you before installation and what venting or color choice avoids it.
Yes. Security doors are heavier and their strike and deadbolt need solid framing behind the brickmould. That reinforcement is part of the install, not an extra discovered later.
